Really....And You Are Going To Do It Anyway?

Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. 1Peter 4:4

The bible tells us some things are mysteries.  It promises to those who are saved all mysteries are revealed.  God promises that if we lack wisdom, to ask for discernment and we will understand.  We like to believe these are statements for all people, yet the truth is God does not want all people to know everything: people who will use wisdom to hurt others, who betray others and deal treacherously or act out in deceit. Through this He is demonstrating patience and giving them a chance to turn back.

We also believe everyone who hears the same words we hear, perceive what's righteous.  We believe the holy spirit of God will be working within all of our lives to produce His nature.  However, those thoughts are silly and immature, not wise at all.  God tells us to always discern the spirits, watch for real things which allude to invisible, intangible truths.  God tells us to watch for natural signs not illusions, delusions, trickery or fancy talk.  He said to realize that what is around us will seek to persuade us. If it cannot get us willingly to go along it will provoke in other ways.

In Matthew chapter 13 the disciples asked Jesus why he said to the listeners "If you have ears, listen!" when what He was saying was not real clear. Jesus explained that if people understood they would be given more and more is not to be given to those who are not seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.  It is a safety feature.  Christ was not mocking people, He was charging them to seek wisdom, not piece together their own knowledge.  The answer is not real obvious....when you cannot see beyond the nose on your own face. It takes an eternal perspective, because if all we can see is what is ending then we have no vision at all of eternity: meaning we are desperately sick and need healing.

We all have liked what is bad for us in some way or another.  We all have been bitten by deaths bitter sting and called it sweet.  Peter wrote that we did these things in ignorance, but now we must see the world in it true light.  We must keep our sight on what is happening, what we are now gaining; not on what has been lost.  Christ gave up perfection to be slathered and burdened with our shamefulness.  But he did not regret it because he understood eternal life.

Christ saw others reviling and taking great pleasure; doing every shameful things known to man. He watched people gain riches, rise to power and even fame.  He counted them as pitiful, broke and in need of a saviour. In peace and God's name, Jesus spoke to truth to every person, but some He called out their names.  He made claim that He lost not one of His and knows our name.

Some of us are living and some are dying; though we all appear to be human, it is our spirit which alters everything.  God created everything: the heavens, earth, eternal glory and hell.  He created us to be like Him and He allowed the devil to have his own domain as well.  Why does it appear at times that evil is not being held back, though God promises He is aware and will not turn back from His purpose? Why God makes these plans and alignments, I cannot say for sure, yet I know it to be true.

Christ said evil ends in the fire of His fury, being kindled through the vengeance of His jealousy for His beloved. He promises to the saved we will be rescued but to the ones headed into captivity they will go.  Jesus will not fight, shout, crush the weak or snuff out even the smallest of hopes.  Yet through the strength of God's loving kindness, he will end all conflict with his final victory and His name shall be the hope on every ones lips.

O please ask if you do not hear, ask to be saved and He will save you; ask to be healed and He will gladly heal.  Seek Him in all of His glory...right now, before this day passes too.

Review:

  •  As obedient children do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behaviour; because it is written "You shall be Holy for I am Holy."I Peter 1:14, 15, 16

  • And corresponding to that baptism now saves you - not the removal of dirt from the flesh but an appeal to God for a good conscience- through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.I Peter 3: 21, 22

  •  Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men....but for the will of God.1 Peter 4:1

God Does Say "That's Enough, NO MORE!"

Jeremiah 15: 6 "You who have forsaken Me", declares the Lord, "You keep going backward so I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you: I am tired of relenting!".

There are many details of this study which have been purposefully not mentioned, here. We will be exploring those when we get to the conclusion of the broad topics.  We all know, the direction each could roll out are unending in wisdom.  We only have a few more spaces to cover, prior to excavating in one spot ;)

Our main focus has been on finding God's intent or purpose, rather than assuming our limited knowledge is all that wise and being mislead. He promised that we could and WOULD understand this.  He also promises if we search for Him with all of our heart, mind and soul we will find Him.  Which makes sense, because if we could not find Him and His Kingdom then we would have no hope of following this verse in Matthew 6:33, 34: But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We have been looking at the grumblings of God's children, His mercy, grace, provision and protection; ultimately His faithfulness even when we are not faithful back.  We are so very 'me' sighted.  We believe that we are not supposed to be made to do without.  Most of the time God wants us to move away from things which He is attempting to sweep out of reach, but we find a bizarre sense of comfort in the things which are enemies to peace with God and His Kingdom, at times.  We paint pretty pictures to veil what we know is real and listen to the voices of others to help us mask the truth.

I cannot find very many of God's leaders or followers who were not told to leave things of self importance.  God does this for several reasons: He needs to protect things and we need to be able to get away from what is stopping our maturation in Him.  The Israelites grumbled when they did not have creature comforts, even though they were safe.  Did rich food, alcohol and the thought of waking up to the hand of a miserable taskmaster another day really equate to better than this?

God promised good things and a bright future with Him.  He promises us the same thing.  He also assures us that we will see good things here in this life if we will trust Him:  Yes, Jesus replied, and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come.  We cannot help ourselves it seems, we are so ruled by what we crave, how others perceive us, being one of the normal or successful ones, and entitlement that we just go with the popular mindsets.  God warns us that it's enough with focusing on the life of our soul and all that dazzles us into the hands of a miserable taskmaster.  For instance, 1 Timothy 4:8 Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and the life to come."

All through out our lives we have choices to make as a follower of Christ and Child of God.  Do I listen to truth, or do I follow my gut. Look at the following verses where God says to us:

  • The heart is more deceitful than all else. And is desperately sick; who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the result of his deeds. Jeremiah 17: 9,10
  •  They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the Lord Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the Lord Almighty was very angry. Zechariah 7:12
Whether we are willing to be honest with anyone else, we should fear God and be honest with Him.  He has clearly told us what is to come and that we can be saved both in this life and in the life to come.  He has stressed that this life will be difficult but not to fear. We will be taking one last step in this prior to breaking off chunks for deeper study.  I will close out with:

The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; in the last days you will clearly understand it.  Jeremiah 23: 20, 21

Are you willing....He has done everything else? WILL you lay down your hardness, your ungodliness, your greed, your resentment and many other "little" things (in the sight of an unholy world) and simply go the "right way"?  Mind you, it will be very abnormal to others but it is the normal way we were created to go!.

Think about it, His beloved child, in Christ,

Her Life Can Save Another Child

Stepparent Abuse?  (link to Dr. Phil Episode on child abuse)   This is a very tragic situation.  Lauren lost her daughter Lily due to abuse at the hand of her ex-husbands wife.  Most of us cannot wrap our minds around someone treating another human being like; much less a to a helpless toddler in the hands of a caregiver.

Although this is disturbing to watch, if you or someone you care about deals with DV in anyway please click the link, in blue above, and watch.

I thank Dr. Phil for opening up his platform and allowing Lauren to share, and hopefully heal a bit more.
